Cadair Idris is a mountain at the Southern end of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, rising 893m above sea level. This wild camping spot is close to the scree covered summit, with the Irish sea visible on the horizon. Legend has it that anyone who sleeps on its slopes will awaken a madman or a poet. After a cold, wet and windy night I certainly wasn’t a happy man in the morning!

Warning: always check the weather, carry a first aid kit/emergency equipment (phone etc) and have a decent (ideally geodesic) tent when camping in exposed areas! Safety first 🙂
