The basin-like valley of Cwm Idwal is in the Glyderau range of mountains in Snowdonia National Park. This stunningly beautiful location (in the light!) is blessed with high crags, rock slabs and scree slopes – and is popular with rock climbers and hill walkers as well as geologists and botanists. This wild camping spot is close to the edge of Llyn Idwal, a small but prominent mountain lake and popular wild swimming / bathing spot. Its pretty dark here so a clear night presents stargazing opportunities and that feeling of being away from it all!
